Vermont has recognized the importance of early care and education with the passage of Act 166, the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Act. This act has mandated that all children are entitled to 10 hours a week of pre-kindergarten, allowing them to have quality formative experiences and preparing children to succeed in school.

KESD Preschool & Kindergarten Roundup

For residents of: Burke, Concord, Gilman, Lunenburg, Lyndon, Newark, Sheffield, Sutton, and Wheelock

If you have a child who will be 3 or 4 years old before September 1, 2025, your child is eligible for preschool!  If you have a child who will be 5 years old before September 1, 2025, your child is eligible for kindergarten!

. To request information about scheduling a Roundup appointment or enrolling your child in one of our public school   preschools or kindergartens,  please submit an electronic request at kingdomeast.org or contact the following school administrative assistants by Friday, May 9th:

B.  If you would like to enroll your child at any other prequalified preschool or childcare program in VT for 10 free hours of preschool per week, please contact that program directly.

Roundup appointment times will be scheduled between Tuesday, May 27th to Friday, May 30th.  Once you complete the request form, you will be contacted to set up an appointment. *Preschoolers and kindergarteners who attend Roundups will receive a “Welcome to Preschool or Kindergarten” activity bag. 

Universal PreK Partners & Programs

In addition, ¾«¶«´«Ã½ East School District partners with local and regional pre-qualified preschool programs, providing families with the flexibility to access early education in a setting outside of the public school.  For contact information and a list of KESD Universal PreK Partners within the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ East School District, please click the button below:

Families may also access Universal Preschool at pre-qualified partner programs outside of the ¾«¶«´«Ã½ East School District. Information about out-of-district options can be found on the Building Bright Futures Website.

Families should contact public schools and PreK partners directly to inquire about registration.
