Board Committee Purposes & Assignments
Membership:
The Communications, Policy and Strategic Planning Committee should include the superintendent, Director of Student Services and three to five (3-5) board members, and is chaired by one of the board members.
Purpose:
To review and recommend all VSBA required policies to the full board for final approval with a written summary of committee discussion including highlighted points to support the full board’s discussion and adoption.
Reporting:
The Communications, Policy and Strategic Planning Committee shall…
- Hold a monthly public meeting
- The Committee shall have a published five (5) year policy review cycle incorporated into the Board’s Annual Agenda Plan.
- The Committee will provide regular reports to the full board for consideration
- The Committee will have publicly-warned meetings and published meeting minutes in compliance with VT Open Meeting Law
Limitation on Authority:
The Communications, Policy and Strategic Planning Committee has no authority other than to make proposals and recommendations to the Board as a whole. Informational requests requiring administrative resources or time shall be directed to the Superintendent or designee from the Chair of the Communications, Policy and Strategic Planning Committee.
