Board Committee Purposes & Assignments
Membership:
The Academic Excellence Committee should include the superintendent, Director of Innovation and Learning, Director of Educational Technology, and three to five (3-5) board members, and is chaired by one of the board members.
Purpose:
To identify and review annual metrics of student academic progress and outcomes.

Reporting:
The Academic Excellence Committee shall…
- Hold a monthly public meeting
- The Committee will provide regular written reports to the full board for review and discussion, and at least two presentations each year reviewing metrics identified as indicators of student progress.
- The Committee will have publicly-warned meetings and published meeting minutes in compliance with VT Open Meeting Law
Limitation on Authority:
The Academic Excellence Committee has no authority other than to make proposals and recommendations to the Board as a whole. Informational requests requiring administrative resources or time shall be directed to the Superintendent or designee from the Chair of the Academic Excellence Committee.
